BISS List 12.17.21: Happy Holidaze!! Upcoming FEATURED shows! What are YOU doing for NYE?

Happy Holidaze BISS Listers!!

I have been hearing from so many of you recently who thought maybe you just fell off the BISS list and stopped receiving the emails from me. Truth? I haven’t sent one since June of 2021. That being said.. This could be a LONG one!

If you have been following us on BISSLIST.com, Facebook, Instagram, or even Twitter, then you know that we have been on top of all the best live music, even when it was only online streams at the height of the pandemic. Then we opened up and live music in person started to come back, then it changed again and locked down, then opened, and then and then… It was all just too much!

I think it’s fair to say that we are really coming back this time, at least here in the Bay Area where most of our counties are exempt from the soon to be implemented restrictions coming to the state of CA in mid January. Meaning, we have done so well at mitigating the spread, that we are going to continue to move forward in this area. Phew!! & Congrats!

If you are following BISS List on any of the above mentioned platforms, you have probably noticed that BISS List ticket giveaway contests are BACK! (slowly but surely) Wondering if there is anywhere you can find a complete list of these BISS ticket giveaway contests? Why yes, there is: https://bisslist.com/win-tickets/

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong with Karina Rykman

March 12th @ The UC Theatre
Hailed as “musical explorers” by Rolling Stone, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong first took flight roughly a decade ago at the University of Maryland, and the pysch-funk trailblazers have since gone on to play more than a thousand shows across 44 states. In just the past two years alone, the band has co-billed at Red Rocks, played halftime at Madison Square Garden, performed on Adult Swim’s FishCenter Live, celebrated the tenth anniversary of their beloved music festival, Domefest, and even earned their first headlining arena show. The Baltimore quartet’s latest album, ‘Presto,’ is their most sophisticated and joyful collection to date, drawing on everything from funk to rock to electronic music as it builds off the group’s unparalleled live energy and hits new heights of emotional and technical maturity. At a time when America seems to grow more divided by the day, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong still believes in the power of music to bring people together, and ‘Presto’ is a big, bold album all about celebrating the present and sharing it with the ones we love most. http://bit.ly/UCTheatre

As I mentioned earlier, the Bay Area seems to have done well in our efforts to mitigate the spread of Covid and we want to be sure to keep it this way! So we created the BISS COVID-Related Concert & Venue Information & Reviews page. This is A Community Effort to Promote COVID Protocols at Concerts & Festivals. We don’t want the concert industry to get shut down again, so we are doing our little part to create and support systems that help keep it safe for fans, musicians & their touring teams, and venue/event staff alike!

However, we need YOUR help with the reviews! We started this in August and need to go back through all 80+ venues to continue to update the protocols.

Please add your reviews as you are out and about by going to this page:

Thank you to Jon Gelbard and Josh Peerless for working with me to build the BISS COVID-Related Concert & Venue Information & Reviews page!

I leave you with this final question which seems to be on everyone’s lips… (or at least in my ear!!)

Are you new to the BISS List?
(Or maybe it’s just been so long that you forgot what BISS List is all about?)

The BISS List started in 2003 as an email newsletter listing shows for all the diehard live music fans in the bay area. We are heavy on funk and jam but we love it all! BISS List grew to approx 15,000 followers every week through Email, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and our website (www.bisslist.com) by 2015. We provide a completely biased list, only listing the shows that we and our fans like. We also run ticket giveaway contests to enhance our promotional efforts with venues, bands and promoters.

Our calendar listings are hand selected by our team each week and they are FREE to view and to add to them. If we missed a show that should be added, you can submit shows on our website: http://bit.ly/BISSEventSubmission or you can email us directly at biss@bisslist.com.

Each week, we will mark selected shows that we, the staff and crew, find to be the BEST OF BISS. From that fine tuned list, we also pick a few shows that we designate as FEATURED SHOWS. Those are shows you should be sure to mark on your calendar!
