Vulfpeck’s Epic Vibes: The Making of “Clarity of Cal” at the UC Theater | 9.19.24

Vulfpeck’s back-to-back shows at the UC Theater last week were nothing short of spectacular! Known for their high-energy performances, the band didn’t disappoint as they lit up the stage with their signature blend of funk, soul, and positivity. Fans are still buzzing about the good vibes they delivered, with one attendee calling them “a highly entertaining band with super positive vibes.”

These shows held special significance, as they were live recording sessions for their upcoming album, “Clarity of Cal”. The setlist featured a mix of fan favorites like Back Pocket and Dean Town, alongside exciting new tracks such as Big Dipper, In Real Life, and The Heist. It was a treat for fans to hear these songs come to life in real-time, knowing they’d be part of the album’s history.

Adding to the magic, the band featured some incredible guest performers. Charles Jones brought his talent on the B3 organ, and soulful vocalist Antwaun Stanley captivated the crowd with his dynamic performances. Cory Wong’s exceptional guitar skills further elevated the energy of the show, and Jacob Jeffries’ rich vocals added even more depth to the night’s performances. The collaborative spirit on stage was palpable, making it a memorable performance.

For those lucky enough to attend, this was more than just a concert—it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience to be part of Vulfpeck’s first live album recording at the UC Theatre. If the fourth of the six shows I attended is any indication, “Clarity of Cal” is shaping up to be a must-listen.
