Weekly BISS List 2.28.24: Spotlight on Golden Road Gathering (5.17-5.19) + Best of BISS this Week
Happy Leap Day Week BISS Listers! Is that officially a thing? Maybe not, but let’s celebrate it with some amazing live music anyway!
Confession time: After a glorious four-year streak, I finally succumbed to a cold last week. My body clearly demanded a break, so I took a step back (grudgingly, of course!) and missed out on the live scene.
However, I’ve heard rave reviews about all the shows, especially Tony Glaser at the Boom Boom Room – sounds like he absolutely rocked it again! Huge thanks to our winner, Randall, for sharing your awesome pics with us!
I decided to let go of my hope for a miracle to see Madonna for the first time last night. Instead, I opted for another day of rest. Plus, without a miracle, those ticket prices were a bit steep for my budget at the moment. And let’s be real, I wouldn’t have had time to write this and get it to you by Wednesday morning!
My calendar is overflowing with live music goodness for the rest of the week and I’m ready to dive back in!
Here’s the rundown:
- Wednesday: My soul is already warming up for Lukas Nelson w/ Promise of The Real at the Fillmore! Can’t wait to lose myself in their captivating melodies. For those of you planning to attend on Thursday, soak in every note on my behalf! (and send me your good videos & photos!)
- Thursday: Monophonics are bringing their vintage R&B magic home for two nights at Sweetwater. While I’m aiming for the Monophonics Leap Day Celebration on Thursday with a whole crew of you, I know some of you are in for their Friday show. I heard that Friday is close to selling out so get those tickets!
- Friday: The Wood Brothers are bringing their soul-stirring melodies and infectious energy to The Fillmore for two nights, starting Friday. With Rainbow Girls opening both nights. Who’s joining me on Friday night? PS. We still have one more pair to *WIN*!
- Friday Late Night: Feeling the need to dance the night away? Afrolicious at The Boom Boom Room is the answer (*WIN*)! They’re bringing the late-night vibes, and I can’t wait to feel the rhythm take over. We are ready for an epic late night!
- Saturday: Kendra Morris takes the stage at Bottom of The Hill with her captivating soulful stylings. I am sure it will be an amazing performance filled with emotion and energy! **For those of you hitting up Monophonics on Friday, get to SWMH early to see her there!**
- Saturday Late Night: Super Greens will be bringing the late-night funk & rock energy to the Boom Boom Room (*WIN*). If you’re looking to dance and lose yourself in the music, this is the place to be! Don’t miss out on this chance to end the week on a high note.
Remember, this is just a taste of the week’s live music offerings. As always, check out the Best of BISS section with our show picks of the week and Win Tickets page. And don’t forget there is always more on the Full Calendar.
But wait there’s more! Check out “Dangerous” by Litty deBungus in the #ListenToThis section below!
Wishing you all a week filled with harmony, joy, and good health!

LISTEN TO THIS
Listen to “Dangerous” by Litty deBungus, from their self-titled album (Released 2023)
“Dangerous” is iconic in an unconventionally funky way. With its psychedelic message and satisfying hits, you may feel the need to dance and even mosh. We spoke with guitarist Stefan Turkowski and he told us that “the lyrics for ‘Dangerous’ were inspired on a band trip down the central coast, and it draws contrast between the mindset of a person doing what they love vs that of a working person. Driving on the Bay Bridge can either feel like hell or heaven depending on if you’re going to work or the Boom Boom Room. When it’s the latter, you can start to feel dangerous – not physically dangerous, but musically, very dangerous.”
You can catch Litty deBungus live at one of their upcoming bay area shows on 3/9 w/ Jive Machine at Boom Boom Room (*WIN*), 3/22 w/ Trianna Feruza & The Heavy Hitters at Music City SF, and 3/29 w/ Knuf at Toots Tavern.
