Show Time: 8:00 pm

Following last year’s sold-out concert, Emma’s Revolution, the award-winning activist duo comprised of Pat Humphries and Sandy O returns to The Freight in Berkeley with another stellar roster of musicians. This year, The Power of Hope & Resistance, an evening of justice, joy and resilience, will feature special guests including beloved Bay Area vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Vicki Randle and keyboard/accordionist Julie Wolf and LA-based Maggie Wheeler, song-leader and actor, best known for her role as Janice on Friends. The guests will perform on Emma’s Revolution’s songs, and the duo will also perform on their guests’ songs, giving the audience an opportunity to hear these powerful social justice artists’ work.   The concert is a fundraiser for the feature documentary, Keep on Moving Forward, being made about Emma’s Revolution, their songs and their decades of work on the frontlines of peace and social justice movements by award-winning independent filmmaker, Tom Weidlinger, who has been writing, directing and producing documentary films for 35 years.    In the spirit of Emma Goldman’s famous attribution, “If I can’t dance, I don’t want to be part of your revolution,” Emma’s Revolution brings their uprising of truth and hope to concerts and peace and justice, human rights, environmental, labor and LGBTQIA+ and women’s rights events across the country. This queer and non-conforming women’s duo’s touring has included performances in Canada, England, Israel/Palestine, Nicaragua, Cuba, Chile, and Korea.
