Fred Frith’s Fremakajo + Jordan Glenn’s Beak
Fred Frith is one of the most inventive guitarists of his generation, known for reimagining what the instrument can do. From his early days with Henry Cow to decades of boundary-pushing collaborations and improvisation, he has continually expanded the sonic possibilities of the guitar through extended techniques and fearless experimentation. A longtime Bay Area presence and former Mills College professor, Frith brings a new quartet, Fremakajo, featuring drummer Jordan Glenn, saxophonist Kasey Knudsen, and accordionist Marie Abe. + JORDAN GLENN’s BEAK JG’s BEAK (est. 2014) is a percussion heavy ensemble that blurs the line between dynamic/energetic grooves and chaos. The power of this electric ensemble is wheeled by Jordan Glenn’s curious baton, moving in and out of composed and spontaneous material.
