A Bay area legend, Sly has been a huge influence on both Daniel and Pher. They are excited to reimagine and reconstruct some classics from Family Stone songbook into a modern setting. The band will also be performing music from Daniel’s recently released album “Denim Dream” as well as original music written by Pher. Daniel Winshall, born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts is both an upright and electric bass player. From a young age he showed interest in music and began playing electric bass at age 7. Once he picked up the upright bass in middle school, he fell in love with jazz and soul music. After graduating Boston Arts Academy Daniel moved to New York City where he graduated from the New School for Contemporary Jazz. Daniel started his professional career at the age of 14 at Wally’s Cafe in Boston and since then he has had the opportunity to perform and record with many artists including Keyon Harrold, Wynton Marsalis, DRAM, Jose James, Lenny White, Baby Rose, Brasstracks, Joey Alexander and many more.
