BISS List 2.5.25: Spotlight on ALO (2.22) + Best of BISS this Week

Happy Sunny Hump Day, BISS Listers!

The relentless rain we’ve had lately feels like an exclamation point on what so many of us are already going through—loss, illness, personal struggles, and the weight of life’s unexpected challenges. It’s been pouring for days in SF, and though today offers a brief break, the heaviness still lingers. Some days, it feels impossible to push through, but then the sun peeks out—just for a moment—before the next storm rolls in.

But if you’re reading this, you already know we have something powerful to hold onto—music. It saves us, soothes us, and brings us together when we need it most. And last week, the scene across the Bay Area and beyond delivered exactly that.

Last Week’s Shows Recap

Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe – 1/29 at Sweetwater Music Hall: KDTU never disappoints, and with DJ Williams stepping in on guitar and Nigel Hall adding fresh energy, the band locked in effortlessly for another powerhouse set—check out the photos and videos here!
The Main Squeeze – 1/31 at Bimbo’s 365 Club: Seeing The Main Squeeze live for the first time was a revelation, as they threw down an electrifying set filled with funk, soul, and a killer cover of Take Me Out—watch the highlights here!
After The Main Squeeze, we headed over to our friend Bernadette’s new space in SOMA, GRNHS Gallery + Studio, for the Official Launch Party. This is a really cool space worth keeping an eye on for music shows, art, & events.
Lyrics Born – 2/1 at The Independent: With DJ D Sharp setting the stage, Lyrics Born delivered a high-energy, sold-out show that had the crowd bouncing from start to finish—see the action here!
Eric McFadden & Friends – 2/1 at Boom Boom Room: Eric McFadden, Angeline Saris, Paulo Baldi, & Danny Eisenberg turned The Boom Boom Room into a full-on jam session packed with heavy hitters including special guests: Garrett Shider (Star Child Jr.), Kate Vargas, & Ziek McCarter—videos and photos here!

🎹 Saturday Late Night – Tracorum at Boom Boom Room (*WIN*): Looking for the after-party? This is definitely it. With moe. and Lotus both in town—and knowing those guys are tight—this could turn into a late-night hang session with both bands.
