How’s your week been? Mine has been a little up and a little down. It seems many friends have been experiencing close losses in their families and then at the same time, there are so many birthdays to celebrate this week. I guess that’s the balance of life? Sending love to all who are in need this week. ❤️

Casa Del Sol + Albany Project

Casa Del Sol is an SF-based super-group of sorts, founded by singer/songwriter/guitarist John ‘Mad Johnny” Modell, who is joined by Wally Ingram on drums (Sheryl Crow, Crowded House, Eric Burdon, Stockholm Syndrome, Weir/Lesh, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt), Mike DiPirro on Bass (Free Peoples, Marshall House Project, Bill Kreutzmann), and Mighty Dave Pellicciaro on keyboards (Jackmormons, Materialized). The band’s original music comprises modern psychedelic soul-rock, which is laced with ample amounts of blues, jazz, and world music. Their songs, while lyrically very moving, also feature exciting and intense interplay and improvisation between the musicians. With Albany Project.
Life Every Voice: Casa Del Sol
Sept 21st @ GGP Bandshell
The Lift Every Voice series is bringing dozens of free concerts courtesy of Illuminate, SF Rec & Parks, and the SF Parks Alliance. All performances are free and family-friendly, with the impressive Golden Gate Bandshell as the backdrop. The Bandshell, which is 120 years old, added new lighting, a state-of-the-art sound system, and a new stage during the pandemic. Casa Del Sol performs at 6pm, with additional music from Jenny Kerr Duo (5pm) and The Season of Us (4pm).
