BISS List 11.16.22: Rex Foundation Benefit + Best of BISS this Week

Happy Hump Day BISS Listers! The weekend is almost here!

I am still getting used to having these big weekends of music with you all every week. I know, it’s still only a couple of nights we run into each other. Still not quite like the old days when we were hitting 3-5 nights out with multiple shows each night. But we are working our way back, aren’t we?

Since the last BISS List, I had the chance to experience the gypsy-punk stylings of Gogol Bordello at The Warfield. They put on such an entertaining show! I love the way they engage so much with the audience and vice versa. It’s pretty awesome to witness.

Boombox Ft Backbeat Brass + Mark Farina was also a fantastic show on Saturday night. It was spectacular to see so many friends there and celebrate a few birthdays too! It was funny to surprise so many people at changeover with the knowledge that the first set that they loved was Mark Farina (Not Boombox). Boombox is still about to play! Did they really buy tickets to this show and really did not know this? I really dig Boombox with the horn section! #droppingknowledge

Then Will Bernard & The Freelance Subversives at BBR? Shreppic! (Shredding + Epic = Shreppic) It felt like the old days when the bands played on until almost 3am at BBR. Thank you Will and BBR!

Can you believe it’s already Thanksgiving next week? Are you going out for music on Black Wednesday? If you are thinking about it, you might want to know that we here at BISS List are giving away multiple pairs of FREE tickets for the Terrapin Family Band ft Eric Krasno w/ Special Guest Peter Rowan at The Guild Theatre in Menlo on 11/23. Founded by the Grateful Dead in 1983, the Rex Foundation supports grassroots organizations doing great work. Support this great organization with a fabulous night of music from Melvin Seals and JGB, Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz & Scott Law with special guest Vicki Randle, and more in the intimate surroundings of The Fillmore.

All tickets include access to the Pre-Show Reception which includes a seated dinner with gourmet food, wine & beer, followed by an evening of all-star performances viewed from premium table seating. All ticket buyers will receive a commemorative event poster.
