SPOTLIGHT ON TRANCEFUSION

The Disco Biscuits

July 20th @ The Fillmore

Win Tickets

The Disco Biscuits are an entirely different band today than when they first broke out of Philadelphia in the mid-90s. That’s not to say they’ve abandoned their foundation, switched gears, or set sail for distant shores. The Disco Biscuits are still very much the pioneers of “trancefusion,” bridging the gap between electronic music and jam bands. They still remain rock pioneers whose soul belongs as much to the marathon dance parties as it does to live improvisational journeys. They still employ emerging technologies to help them create music that is 100 percent human although, perhaps, not entirely of this earth.

LISTEN TO THIS

Listen to “Found My Groove” by The Burroughs, from their new album Honey Imastar.

The Burroughs’ latest concept album follows an alien traveler who comes to Earth to study and understand humans. Lead singer Jay Burroughs says it’s “a grandiose experiment for us as a band, but in reality it couldn’t be a more personal story. We all found freedom in expressing our own triumphs and doubts through the character of Honey Imastar. And something that’s at the core of this story and our spirit as a band is our determination to continue to wake up, be present, bring our whole selves and keep moving forward together.”
