BISS List 4.5.23: Fourth Position w/ JeNes N the Juice (4.8) + Best of BISS this Week

Chag Sameach Pesach BISS Listers! (That means Happy Passover!)

Tonight is the first night of the Passover Holiday, so yes, of course I am making my famous matzah ball soup. That being said, I will keep it short and sweet this week so I can get back to making the soup to have it ready for tonight!

#LastWeekend, Toubab Krewe + Object Heavy killed it at BBR. Thank you to both bands for backing me up on my promise to you all that this was going to be a shreppic show, not to be missed! Check out the clips from Object Heavy and from Toubab Krewe and you will see for yourself! #yourewelcome

#ThisWeekend, there are some really good shows happening all around the Bay Area which are all listed in the Best of BISS. (No, we do not have ticket giveaways for the Bob Weir shows at Guild) I am pretty stoked about Mr. Hat’s Smoked Out Soul show at The Ivy Room (*WIN*) that I will be crossing the bridge on Friday! I am also feeling the pull to the Krasno/Moore show at The Chapel (*WIN*) on Friday. Either way, I will end up at the BBR at the end of the night because they just announced that there will be an All-Star Jam with Jay Cobb (Fruiton) + Reed Mathis + Mbrs of Mother Hips (*WIN*)!

Saturday night, I will be back at the BBR for my funky friends Fourth Position + JeNes N the Juice (*WIN*). More in the spotlight below! I am sure many of you will be at The Mother Hips at The Chapel (*WIN*) or Bob Weir @ The Guild or David Nelson @ Hopmonk.

Fourth Position is thrilled to be back at the legendary Boom Boom Room, sharing the bill with funkstress extraordinaire Jenes Carter and her sizzling band The Juice! It’ll be an epic night of funk and psychedelic soul with these two bands leaving you with sore feet and melted faces while you bask in the lore of The Boom Boom Room.

Fourth Position are a sophisticated unit of passionate musicians wowing audiences with their unique blend of original California Psychedelic Funk, Soul, Jazz, and Rock.

JeNes N the Juice comes in hot with the mesmerizing moves and eclectic sound of JeNes Carter (of Black Rock City Allstars and Mojo Green).

LISTEN TO THIS

Listen to “Can’t Fool Me” by Motet from their latest album, All Day. Joey Porter, who wrote and sings this song, told me that “Can’t Fool Me” is a song about seeing someone who isn’t genuine, but other people don’t notice it. It’s one of two talk box songs on thier latest record, which features the instrumental side of The Motet.

I asked band member, Dave Watts about this latest album, All Day. He told me, “It’s our first instrumental album in nine years, so we are super excited about it. We are also super excited to be touring with our new singer Sarah Clarke!”
