BISS List 8.18.22: All Star Birthday Bash + BISS Comedy Night+ Best of BISS this Week

Happy Thursday BISS Listers,

Wow! What a week we had up at Lake Concow Campground getting ready and then producing For The Funk Of It 2022! For all of you funksters out there, you must make this a priority on your festival calendar next summer! A good FUNK’n time was had by all! I mean, some of the artists stayed on site longer than they had planned for. They were having just too much fun to tear themselves away. It was a brand new location which is bound to bring challenges with it. I went into this planning to take the opportunity to be creative with something new. And boy did we!

I must take a few moments to acknowledge every single person who participated in For The Funk of It this past weekend! Thank you to every artist for bringing the funk! Thank you to the producers Bob Backstrom and Spencer Rouse! Thank you to all the leads, Donna, Aaron, Tom, Ally, Logan, Kyle, Damion and of course Ninja and Collin who were there to answer every single beck and call. Thank you to the volunteers who showed up and kicked ass! Huge thank you to the folks from Concow Campground who were so accommodating and good hearted, Hap, Josh and Jeremiah! Thank you to the vendors who were also so accommodating to help my team feed the artists and the staff with good hot yummy food to sustain us. Thank you to all of the attendees who came and danced their arses off. And last but not least, THANK YOU to my own Artist Liaison crew which may have been small but was oh so mighty!! I love you so much; Erin, Courtney, Jarret, Caleb and Julie. Plus Micah and Ken Pordas for jumping in each day. Plus Sharon, Bahram and Amy who had never intended to volunteer but jumped in at just the right moments to help us get through… We did it ya’all! We really did it! Long Live the Funk!

NOW my mind turns to MY BIRTHDAY! Yes, I know I have been talking about this for weeks! But now it’s here. I am so excited for my Allstar Birthday Bash at the Boom Boom Room this Saturday, August 20th! We have so many great musicians lined up for you! Come early and meet up with us over at Sheba Lounge around 8p for some food and cocktails to give us some sustenance to get through the long night.. Then we head to the Boom Boom Room for a full night of FUNK music! We are going past 2am so that no matter where else you might go on Saturday, you can still come celebrate with me!

Corde Snell, a California comic with roots in the Bay Area, has invested fully into stand-up comedy. Performing at all the major comedy clubs in CA such as The Comedy Store, Punchline, the Improv, and more. His credits include opening for Moshe Kasher, Brent Ernst, and Eddie Griffin. Come find out who Corde is when he brings his unique brand of comedy stemming from his own life experiences and the absurdity that has surrounded those experiences as he is preparing to record his first special.
