Now let’s talk about this weekend… If I were going to be in the city, I would be hitting up Ronkat’s Katdelic on Friday at the Bandshell and Saturday at Boom Boom Room. If you were at my party this past Saturday, you got a little taste of Ronkat. I highly recommend you check out his full band this weekend at BBR!

However, I wanna do a ROLL CALL for all you BISS Listers going up to Napa for WSMFP?! Yeah, I see all your hands raised. Mine is too. Lemme ask you this… Do you know about all the other shows taking place in Napa outside of those Widespread Panic shows?

We are putting a Blue Note Napa on spotlight as they are our musical cruise director for this weekend, with not only 3 nights of WSP at Oxbow, but also late night shows at JaM Cellars Ballroom on Friday (OG Garage a Trois) and Saturday (Eddie Roberts + Nth Power) and a daytime NOLA fest at Charles Krug Winery (Rebirth + Leo Nocentelli ++).

Garage A Trois have returned to the form from which they were born, with their original lineup comprised by guitarist Charlie Hunter, saxophonist Skerik and drummer Stanton Moore. For the Post Widespread Panic After Party, OG GAT, as they are now known, play their celebrated stone cold funk, outer-space breakbeats with the seventies ‘On The Corner’ guitar grease. WSP After Party. 11pm.

NAPA/NOLA: A Day of New Orleans Music and Food- Featuring Rebirth Brass Band, Raw Oyster Cult, Leo Nocentelli, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, John “Papa” Gros and DJ Harry Duncan

August 27 (12p) @ Blue Note Napa at Charles Krug Winery, Napa

New Orleans is coming to Napa! NAPA/NOLA is a mini festival of classic New Orleans music paired with classic Cajun grinds. Featuring Rebirth Brass Band, Raw Oyster Cult (members of The Radiators), Leo Nocentelli (The Meters), Big Chief Monk Boudreaux (Wild Magnolias), John “Papa” Gros and DJ Harry Duncan. Daytime Show! Noon – 5:30p

Eddie Roberts’ Rare Sounds (ft. members of the New Mastersounds & Greyboy Allstars) + The Nth Power

August 27 (11p) @ JaM Cellars Ballroom

Night two of the Post Panic After Parties stars Eddie Roberts’ Rare Sounds! With an all-star lineup featuring musicians from several of the top modern funk ensembles, Rare Sounds will keep the night going strong along with soul-funk peers The Nth Power, with former Dumpstaphunk drummer Nikki Glaspie! WSP After Party. 11pm.
