BISS List 12.7.22: Allman Family Revival + BISS Crew Comedy Night + Best of BISS this Week

Greetings BISS Listers!

It was great to see so many of your faces smiling and booties dancing this past weekend! In case you missed it, or were lucky enough to be rocking out at The Last Waltz, here’s a little weekend in review….

Friday night started with the Rebirth Brass Band show at the Independent. In answer to the question so many of you asked, that was Object Heavy who opened the show. Then we properly ended the night with Mike Dillon’s Punkadelic ft. Nikki Glaspie and Brian Haas. Friday night was truly the ultimate New Orleans juxtaposition starting with NOLA FUNK and ending with NOLA Punk. Whew! Solid late night!

This past Saturday was another rocking night of jams with Melvin Seals and JGB plus Lebo and Law at the Fillmore. What a beautiful party in support of the Rex Foundation. Bonus: We popped over to BBR to catch a few minutes of up and coming band, DangerAte. Watch out for them!

Sunday night’s 17th annual Nat Keefe Concert Carnival left everyone there feeling all the good happy feels, from raising money for Camp Winnarainbow to the happy birthday to Jenna on stage complete with sparklers on the cake.

Allman Family Revival

The Allman Family Revival is a celebration of the life, spirit, and music of Gregg Allman. Hosted by his son, Blues Music Award-winning artist Devon Allman and anchored by his group, The Devon Allman Project. What started out as a tribute has evolved into one of the biggest jams of the year. Joined by an all-star lineup including Duanne Betts, Donavon Frankenreiter, G.Love, Luther Dickinson, Ivan Neville, Tony Hall, Maggie Rose, Jimmy Hall, Larry McCray, Alex Orbison, and River Kittens.

Connor Marshall was named Best New Artist in Denver’s Westword. He has performed at Savage Henry Comedy Festival and Denver Festibowl. Currently Connor is the owner of Bay Area Paradise Comedy, as well as an SF Sketchfest alum.
