BISS List 12.7.23: Spotlight on Bay Phil Holiday Spectacular (12.17) + Best of BISS this Week
Happy Holiday Party Season & Happy First Night of Hanukkah!
#LastNight, we kicked off the holiday season properly with the return of the 12th Annual BISS Holiday Cocktail Party with guest Startender Elie! It was amazing to see so many of your happy smiling faces! It might have been the best one yet! We always forget about taking a photo until the very end of the night, but we did catch one, plus I took quite a few instant photos, though some didn’t develop. Thank you all for coming out! P.S. I hope that all of you who got a BISS t-shirt will wear it with pride! Why? BISS!
#Tonight, come light the first night’s candle at the Winter Wonderland Hanukkah Celebration at Thrive City from 4p-7p! There will be live music from Jerry’s Kosher Deli all star band, “pawnukkah” activation with SnapFiesta & Value Culture, Dreidel Art, and more! The menorah lighting will be led by Rabbi Bauer from Congregation Emanu-el along with leaders and dignitaries from the community. After that, Wreckless Strangers will be having their EP Release Party with Mark Karan’s Buds at Sweetwater.
#ThisWeekend, we have lots of shows in our Best Of BISS picks for the week, which we have included below for you to peruse. I will be attending many holiday parties and latke parties! But might end up at a show or two.
#ThisSunday, we have a pretty big crew heading out to Cobb’s for Spencer DeVine: Who’s That? We gave out a bunch of tickets last night, but I can get more if you want to come too! Email us to request tickets!
#BTW, Yes, I am still reeling from the amazing epicness that was Bajaja Music Festival. I will share more about this with you next week. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this first year fest!
#NYE… YES! It’s time to start solidifying those New Year’s Eve weekend plans. I’m personally going to Karl Denson’s Annual Birthday Bash at The Fillmore on the 29th. On the 30th I’ll be at Jerry Harrison & Adrian Belew: Remain In Light w/ X at the Warfield (*WIN*), followed by LAZWELL’s tribute to Ziggy Stardust at Boom Boom Room (*WIN*). For those interested in Karl D’s Bday Bash, take note that there will be a second show on the 30th, and for our Napa friends, Jerry Harrison & Adrian Belew: Remain In Light w/ X will also be at Jam Cellars Ballroom on NYE (*WIN*). As far as my NYE plans on the 31st, there are SO MANY options for NYE, even right here in the city. I am definitely leaning towards Afrolicious at Boom Boom Room (*WIN*). For the rest of you who haven’t nailed down a plan yet, we featured a list of BISS picks for NYE weekend in last week’s BISS.
But wait there’s more! This week’s #ListenToThis song pick of the week is “On To The Next One” by The Free Label. Check out this week’s #ListenToThis below to hear it!

LISTEN TO THIS
Listen to “On To The Next One” by The Free Label (Released 2022).
We came across this song on Spotify, and we really like it — but we couldn’t find out much about the band. All we’ve gathered is that they are from Toronto, and self-purport to be “your mom’s favorite party band.” Party on with “On To The Next One”!
Why should you “Listen to This”? – BISS (Because I Said So). Check out the complete Spotify playlist with all weekly songs! #moretocome
