BISS List 1.19.23: The Edwardian Ball + Best of BISS this Week

How is your upcoming music calendar looking? If you have been following the BISS List lately then it is probably looking pretty good!

I am hoping to join many of you this weekend at The Fillmore for Railroad Earth on Friday and Karl D on Saturday. After RRE on Friday, I’m heading to Boom Boom Room to check out The Iceman Special from NOLA (I hear they are awesome and really fun!) and I also want to stop by The Chapel on Saturday for Electric Beethoven ft Reed Mathis, Jay Lane, Brian Haas. But hey, that’s just what I am thinking.

SPOTLIGHT ON THE EDWARDIAN BALL

Edwardian Ball

Feb 3rd & 4th @ The Regency Ballroom

Nigh impossible to describe, but absolutely delightful to experience. The Edwardian Ball is an elegant and whimsical celebration of art, music, theatre, fashion, technology, and circus. Set in a re-imagined “Edwardian Era,” this multi-city, multi-media extravaganza has grown over the past twenty-two years from an underground club party into an internationally recognized festival of the arts.

We had such a great time at the ball last year and can’t wait to do it again. BISS List contributing writer Spor wrote a wonderfully descriptive review, here’s an excerpt: “Thanks to the kaleidoscopic lens of a few absinthe-saturated libations, the motifs and tableaus of famed storyteller/illustrator Edward Gorey come to life at the Edwardian Ball, punctuating the labyrinthine layout of the Regency Ballroom.” Read the whole review now.
