BISS List 2.1.23: ORGONE + Object Heavy + Best of BISS this Week
Happy February BISS Listers!
Last weekend was fun, wasn’t it? I heard Yonder was excellent both nights at Freight & Salvage. And I know Lettuce was off the hook as always at The Fillmore. One of the cool surprises of the weekend was Spunj at the Boom Boom Room after Lettuce on Friday. I heard about this band from so many people as the hottest late-night renegade sets at Skull & Roses last year. Be on the lookout for SPUNJ!!
This weekend, I know the top events where I might see you if I hit them all would be Dark Star (x2) (*WIN*), Edwardian Ball (x2), Ezra Lipp (*WIN*), Rubblebucket (*WIN*) & The Wood Brothers. For more Best of BISS, read on.
Looking a little further out on the calendar,, the next big show that catches my eye is Orgone + Object Heavy (*WIN*) at The Indy on 2/11. I saw Orgone when they played at Boom Boom Room back in the day and have loved them ever since. Object Heavy has been moving up on my radar in recent years and in another minute they will be on yours too. Santa Cruz friends, you can catch the same stellar line-up at Moe’s Alley (*WIN*) These shows are gonna rock!
Speaking of Object Heavy… this week’s “Listen to This!”, is featuring new music from their new album. Check it out below! PS. You can also catch Object Heavy on Feb 9 at Peri’s in Fairfax (*WIN*).

SPOTLIGHT ON DOUBLE FUNK & SOUL
ORGŌNE w/ Object Heavy
It’s a weekend of Funk & Soul with heavy hitter ORGŌNE making their way up from SoCal to the Bay Area to play two nights in two locations, with support from NorCal’s Object Heavy.
With a signature sound signified by lockstep rhythms & a deep grasp of soul and funk, ORGŌNE has built a reputation over the past two decades as one of the tightest, fieriest live bands in the country.
Object’s magnetic blend of classic Cadillac soul, effortlessly contagious dance grooves, vocal harmonies, and blazing musicianship is ripe for a live experience you don’t want to miss.

LISTEN TO THIS
Listen to “Righteous Walk,” from Object Heavy’s new album, Love & Gravity. Love & Gravity is an evolution and the debut of a completely new movement for the band. A tribute to classic 70’s sounds with an eclectic injection of modern flavors. With powerhouse vocalist Richard Love at the helm, and Soul Revival pioneer Kelly Finnigan of Monophonics guiding the production and sound, this album is a must-listen to for any enthusiast of classic or modern Soul, Funk, and RnB!
The album is out now on Apple Music, Spotify, and all other platforms.
Why should you “Listen to This”? – BISS (Because I Said So).
