BISS List 10.26.22: Greensky Bluegrass + BISS Crew Comedy Night + Best of BISS this Week

Happy Almost Halloween BISS Listers,

First off, thank you Hangtown Music Festival for a real good time! Way to blow it out for the last one! These thank you notes can get a bit long but it’s gotta be done. Read the rest in more detail on my FB page.

Now let’s chat about Halloween here in SF this weekend. What are YOU doing? It looks like we have a whole group of BISS list crew, including myself, heading to the Warfield on the 29th for Greensky Bluegrass w/ Holly Bowling & Tea Leaf Green (*WIN*) for our Halloween night out. Then again, looking at the Best of BISS section for the week, there are so many more options from Pink Talking Fish (*WIN*) to George Porter Jr. and Runnin’ Pardners to Soul Ska: Halloween Costume Ball. Strangely, we have no shows listed on 10/31 for Halloween night. I know it’s a Monday so maybe there just aren’t any shows. So where’s the party??!

Greensky Bluegrass w/ Holly Bowling & Tea Leaf Green

For two decades now, Greensky Bluegrass have been building an empire, brick by brick. Known for their dazzling live performances and relentless touring schedule, but that is only the tip of the complex tale of these five musicians: Anders Beck [dobro], Michael Arlen Bont [banjo], Dave Bruzza [guitar], Mike Devol [upright bass], and Paul Hoffman [Mandolin]. They’re a band of brothers who have seen each other through decades of ups and downs, personal and collective highlights, and the moments when life turns it all upside down. These are real people having real experiences. As with traditional bluegrass, they write about their own contemporary day-to-day happenings, emotions, and experiences in the modern world.
