BISS List 12.3.24: Spotlight on New Year’s Eve + Best of BISS this Week

Happy GivingTuesday BISS Listers!

Congratulations—you made it through the feast, survived Black Friday, and conquered Cyber Monday! Now, on this GivingTuesday, we are coming to you early this week because I’m excited to share some big news: BISS List has officially partnered with Independent Arts and Media as our fiscal sponsor! This partnership means we can now accept charitable, tax-deductible donations to support our mission of connecting the live music community, uplifting artists, and keeping you in the know about the best shows in town.

This GivingTuesday, I hope you’ll consider making a donation to help us continue this labor of love. Whether it’s a one-time gift or a recurring contribution, your support directly fuels the BISS List and everything we do to support live music. The holiday season is about to launch into full swing, and I’m thrilled to remind you of the 13th Annual BISS List Cocktail Party this Wednesday (12.4) to kick it off! Over the past 16 years (with just a few years off), this party has become an annual staple of the holiday season. It’s like the set break at your favorite show—catching up with friends while buzzing with excitement for the second set. Elie will be behind the bar, pouring his legendary stiffies, and we’ll have the parklet to spread out and make this year’s gathering even better. Whether you pop in for a minute or stay all evening, this event is all about good vibes and celebrating the season together.

This edition of the BISS List includes our New Year’s Eve Spotlight! Scroll down for all the NYE shows from our favorite venues to help you start 2025 on the right note. If you notice any shows we’ve missed, please email us at biss@bisslist.com so we can add them. We’ll keep the list updated over the coming weeks to make sure you have all the info you need to plan your perfect New Year’s Eve.

As always, remember to check out the Best of BISS section below for more recommendations, the Win Tickets page for chances to see shows for free, and the full calendar for a complete listing of upcoming events!

Before I go, I want to share a little taste of the SF Rock Collective, who made their debut appearance on the main stage at Music City last Saturday 11/30—and what a blast it was! Pamela Parker, Jordan Feinstein, and Anthony Arya each led their own tunes, came together for some fantastic covers, and then circled back to their originals. You’d swear they’d been playing together for years. The crowd was fully into it, singing along to familiar songs from each artist and the covers too. One of the coolest things about Music City is the chance to pop downstairs and discover other bands—such a great spot with music happening on every level. Enjoy!!

Thank you for being a part of the BISS List community. I’m incredibly grateful for your support, whether it’s through a donation, sharing the list, or simply showing up at shows. Let’s keep the music alive and thriving together.

I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday at The Fishbowl!

SPOTLIGHT ON GIVING TUESDAY

Giving Tuesday: Keep the Music Alive

This GivingTuesday, we’re thrilled to announce an exciting new chapter for the BISS List! There are now two ways you can support our mission to keep live music alive and thriving. Both options allow you to play a vital role in supporting live music and the vibrant community we’ve built together.

Through our brand new fiscal sponsorship with Independent Arts & Media, you can now make tax-deductible donations, choosing either a one-time gift or a recurring monthly contribution to directly support our operations and expansion.

You can also join our Patreon community, where your contributions not only support our mission but also grant you exclusive perks, such as instant wins, dance card fillers, member-only contests, and opportunities to attend shows with Miss BISS herself.

The BISS Community Speaks

Over the years, the BISS List has become more than just a calendar of live music events—it’s a cornerstone of the live music community, connecting fans, venues, and musicians in meaningful ways. From helping artists reach new audiences to fostering lifelong friendships among fans, the BISS List has created a ripple effect of positive impact.

But don’t just take our word for it—here are some testimonials from the community and musicians who have experienced firsthand the difference the BISS List makes.

“It makes all the difference for a music scene to have someone like Pamela with consistent focus and support for both emerging and veteran musicians. Live original music is in a weird place now. BISS List is part of the reason the Bay Area continues to have a vital community of listeners.” ~ Robert Walter (Greyboy Allstars, Robert Walter’s 20th Congress)

“BISS has helped my knowledge and love for music grow immensely and I am forever grateful for that. I have been turned on to so much new live music due to this wonderful list. Seriously, who needs Jambase or Bandsintown when you have the BISS list? “ ~ Nora M.

“The BISS List is a huge help for getting the word out about gigs, Their ticket giveaways are such a good way to spread the word, and the entries are always fun to check out. It’s a great way to connect with people who really love live music!” ~ Jordan Feinstein (Jordan & The RituaL)

“The BISS List has their finger on the pulse of the varied & diverse live music scene in San Francisco. I don’t know this for a fact, but I suspect that finger is also sparkly.” ~ Jason R.

“The BISS List is by far doing more promotion for clubs and bands than anyone else. I know I speak for myself and others when I say thank you very, very much.” ~ Paul Oliphant (Smoked Out Soul)

“There is NO better source to find information about all the shows I want to know about in San Francisco and the Bay Area! It is frequently the ONLY place that I find listings for special, below-the-radar shows. Even when I can’t make it to a show, I love reading the weekly updates, they’re so well-written and the next best thing to being there.” ~ Mike W.

“As a musician, The BISS List has been a game-changer for getting people out to our shows in the Bay Area. Their support means more people are hearing about the music and showing up to share the experience.” ~ Lantz Lazwell (LAZWELL)

“There is SO much love and work put into creating BISS List’s email newsletters each week! And that is on top of their stellar curated calendar of live music and so much more! Live music lovers benefit so much from BISS List’s passionate support.” ~ Natalie S.
