BISS List 8.26.26 Spotlight on Shred is Dead + The Best of BISS This Week and More

Happy Women’s Equality Day, BISS Listers! Here’s to the women who keep showing up, speaking up, creating, producing, promoting, building community, and getting shit done.

And I can’t let today go by without a little love for the incredible Dolly Parton… truly one of a kind, and a woman who always showed up, gave back, and lifted others along the way. Her loss yesterday is a big one.

As for me, after a pretty epic birthday weekend, I may need a brief pass on the “showing up” part. 😂

What a birthday weekend it was! I kicked things off with a wonderful birthday dinner at Balboa Cafe with my longtime girl LC, then got ready for an epically amazing party I produced for a friend on Saturday night. I can’t wait to show you how it all came together… pictures coming soon! After that epic night, I wasn’t entirely sure I had enough energy left to rally on my actual birthday Sunday, but of course I did. I made it out to see RonKat’s Katdelic at Salesforce Park, and I’m so glad I did. RonKat called me out by name with a happy birthday and a shoutout to the BISS List, which pretty much made my day. A huge thank you to everyone who called, texted, messaged, and sent birthday love my way. I felt very loved and very lucky. Thank you for thinking of me and taking the time. ❤️

On My Radar This Week: Check out this week’s Hot List on Instagram for our top picks around the Bay Area. I’m especially excited for The Greyboy Allstars at The Castro Theatre this Friday, 8/28. I still haven’t seen a full show there since it reopened, and after talking with Robert Walter, I’m even more excited for this one. Known as a master of jazz improvisation and the art of the sit-in, Marcus is a frequent call among bands and musicians, establishing his own unique niche in the performance world.
