BISS List 2.27.25 Spotlight on Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio (3.8) + Best of BISS this Week

Happy February Finale, BISS Listers!

As we wrap up the month, it’s also time to celebrate some amazing people. Happy Birthday this week to a whole lot of friends! There are too many to name, but today, as I write this, I want to give a special shoutout to my right-hand woman, Jenni—Happy Birthday! And a big Happy Birthday as well to DJ Logic and Joby!

This week’s BISS List comes with a mix of emotions. On the one hand, there’s always excitement about the incredible live music we get around here. On the other hand, we received some heartbreaking news on the same day last week’s BISS List went out—we lost a brilliant, radiant light, Jendala. For those who knew her, I know you’ll think of her every time one of her chimes rings.

I wasn’t able to make it out to shows on Thursday or Friday, but I reached out to all of you to hear about what you’ve been to and what you’re looking forward to. Join the conversation! I did, however, make it out on Saturday night, knowing it would be a night of music, friends, and great energy at The Fillmore. And I was right. Here’s some highlights from the night:

  • Glitterfox opened the night with a heartfelt and powerful set, giving the crowd a taste of their upcoming debut album, including “Take Me Back,” the first single from that record. Frontwoman Solange Igoa’s voice is a mesmerizing mix of Brandi Carlile’s raw storytelling, Florence Welch’s ethereal power, and a touch of Stevie Nicks’ magic—it’s clear this band is on the rise, and fast. Enjoy some clips here.
  • Then came ALO, working their Tour D’Amour magic with two phenomenal sets that had the whole Fillmore moving. ALO always knows how to bring the joy,, and this night was no exception. It was great to see so many shiny, happy BISS Listers and Shapeshifters in the crowd. The love and energy in the room were undeniable!
  • Huge thanks to Gabriel Barkin, who not only captured the show but also pulled off three photo shoots in the poster room between sets! Both of his photo galleries can be found in the review section of the BISS List website, and here’s the link. Meanwhile, I was busy capturing videos, which you can check out.
  • And if that wasn’t enough, the night continued with a late-night jam featuring the SF is Dead Allstars at Boom Boom Room, drawing in fans fresh from Circles Around the Sun with special guest Mike Gordon at The Independent, JGB at The Warfield, and ALO at The Fillmore. This killer lineup featured Reed Mathis on guitar, Jordan Feinstein on keys, Anna Elva on drums, and Mike Meagher on bass. The music kept going strong until 3 AM, bringing together an incredible mix of artists and fans for one unforgettable night—just like the old BBR days!

Now, let’s dive into the weekend! Scroll down for the Best of BISS, where you’ll find this week’s top picks for live music! I’ll be “out of town” for a weekend birthday celebration, but there may be some music involved—so I’ll report back next week.

Looking ahead, I’m especially excited about Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, on 3/8 (*WIN*), and our growing relationship with The Presidio Theatre, which means more great opportunities ahead. Check out the spotlight below for more details and find out how you can win a pair of tickets!

As always, I love featuring community voices! If you’d like to submit your work for inclusion in the BISS List, send an email to biss@bisslist.com.

For even more shows and your chance to win FREE tickets, check out Best of BISS, the Full BISS Calendar and Win Tickets page. If we missed anything, let me know!

That’s all for now—go catch some live music and celebrate the moments we have together.

Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio combines the 1960s organ jazz stylings of Jimmy Smith and Dr. Lonnie Smith with a pinch of the snappy soul strut of The Meters and sprinkles of the sounds of Motown and Stax Records. They are a soul-jazz concoction that goes straight to your heart and makes your body break out in a sweat. Live, the band’s fiery and intuitive chemistry is unstoppable, brimming with improvisation, instant composition, imaginative takes on classic tunes, and booty-shaking soulful gems.

🎶 Two Ways to Help Keep the BISS List Alive! 🎶

The BISS List has always been a labor of love, fueled by passion for live music and a dedication to this amazing community. What started as a personal email of show picks has grown into a full-fledged resource for funk, jam, soul, and groove lovers—bringing you curated show recommendations, ticket giveaways, and a space to connect over the music we love.

But running BISS takes time, effort, and real costs—over $3,000 a month just to keep the basics going! That’s why we’re excited to offer two ways you can support and help sustain the BISS List:

Make a tax-deductible donation – The BISS List is now fiscally sponsored by Independent Arts & Media, which means your donation directly supports our mission while also being tax-deductible! Every contribution helps us grow, support artists, and expand BISS to serve the music community even better.

Join our Patreon – Want to support and get perks? Patreon gives you a way to back the music you love while enjoying exclusive benefits. Your membership helps cover essential costs and allows us to keep BISS thriving without constant financial stress.

Your support—no matter the size—keeps the BISS List alive and ensures we can continue sharing the music, artists, and shows that bring us together. Thank you for being part of this incredible community. Let’s keep the music playing! ~ Pamela aka Miss BISS
