BISS List 3.12.25 Spotlight on Joe Marcinek Band ft Melvin Seals + Best of BISS this Week

Happy Midweek Groove, BISS Listers!

Well, this past week didn’t go as planned—I was home sick instead of out catching live music. But as one of the first Rules of BISS goes, there’s no such thing as FOMO. You’re always exactly where you’re supposed to be, whether that’s at a show, sleeping, eating, or in my case, chugging tea and resting up.

Thankfully, you BISS Listers had my back, capturing moments from the week and keeping the music alive. This week, I created a new album called “We Love Live Music!” and many of you are already in it! So far, you’ll find pictures and videos from a variety of shows, including G-Love, Delvon Lamarr, Scott Pemberton with Sean Leahy, plus Ron Artis and Hall & Oates in Hawaii—and a few more! I’d love to see this album continue to grow! For optimal viewing, switch to “Feed View” (three lines) instead of “Grid View” (four squares). This will show you the most recent posts first! If you’d like to contribute, let me know, and I’ll add you as a collaborator.

Now that I’m feeling better, I’m looking at this week’s Best of BISS, which you’ll find when you scroll down. There are so many great shows happening, and while I wish I could be at all of them, here’s what’s on my personal calendar:

Looking at the above ambitious schedule for my musical plans… I might have to cut at least one show to survive and make it to next week. Speaking of next week, while I have barely started thinking about next week, I do know I want to be ready for Nate’s Werthless Good Time on 3/21 (*WIN*) at Boom Boom Room. Expect special guests to show up again! and The Wood Brothers on the 3/22 (*WIN*) at The Fillmore. Be sure to read the BISS List next week for a special interview with Chris Wood!

For even more shows and your chance to win FREE tickets, check out Best of BISS, the Full BISS Calendar, and the Win Tickets page.

That’s all for now, BISS Listers. If I missed something, let me know—I always love hearing what’s on your radar! I’ll see you out there—hopefully at full strength, definitely still dancing, and as always, beyond grateful for this incredible community.

Stay funky & see you on the dance floor,

~ Pamela aka Miss BISS

SPOTLIGHT ON KILLING IT

LAZWELL “Killing It” ft George Clinton

Official Music Video by Maculate

Killing It” is a funk-driven, hip-hop-infused anthem about grinding hard, rising up, and living for the rhythm that fuels the journey. This track features the legendary George Clinton and brings the raw energy of funk together with a slick, rhythmic flow—laced with attitude. But “Killing It” is more than just a song—it’s a personal anthem of resilience and empowerment. Lantz wrote this during a time when life wasn’t quite lining up the way he had hoped. The struggles were real, the road felt uncertain, but instead of letting it break him, he let it ignite him. This song is a battle cry for every dreamer who refuses to give up. It’s a groove-laced reminder that even in the toughest of moments, we just gotta keep “living for the rhythm that is pumping out of our veins.”

To bring that vision to life, Lazwell assembled a dream team of music legends, calling in some of the most iconic artists he had connected with over the years:

🔥 George Clinton, Tracey Clinton, and Eric McFadden (Parliament-Funkadelic)

🔥 Norwood Fisher (Fishbone) on bass

🔥 Stephen Perkins (Jane’s Addiction) on drums

With this powerhouse lineup, “Killing It” became an explosive fusion of funk, hip-hop, and high-energy rock with unstoppable momentum. And to bring it all to life on screen, Lantz enlisted DJ Maculate, a visionary animation artist, to create a psychedelic, funk-fueled music video that captures the song’s raw energy. This is for the dreamers, the hustlers, and anyone who refuses to quit. Turn it up, watch the magic, and keep Killing It!
