LISTEN TO THIS

Listen to “SoulD” by Joe Marcinek Band, from the upcoming album 1 River Street (Released 2024)

For “SoulD”, guitarist and bandleader Joe Marcinek recruited bassist Nate Edgar (The Nth Power), keyboardist Kris Yunker (Alan Evans Trio), and a three-piece horn section of Brian Thomas, Alex Lee-Clark, and Jared Sims to help concoct a strolling, soul-funk instrumental, along with Soulive’s Alan Evans who played drums on the recording in addition to handling producing, mixing, mastering, and album artwork duties. We spoke with Joe about his inspiration for the song and he tould us that “Soul D” is “a tribute to Soulive. I was inspired by watching a Louis Cato instagram video. Every Monday he posts a Cato cover and he did one on the old blues tune ‘Going Down.’ It was funky and got stuck In my head. So Soul from Soulive and the D from ‘Going Down.’” This is the first single from the new album 1 River Street, due out via Vintage League Music on April 30th.

You can catch Joe Marcinek live at Golden Road Gathering, May 17th-19th at El Dorado County Fairgrounds in Placerville. And we’ve got a mega giveaway with two Golden VIP packages! Joe also told us he plans to be in the bay area more so look out for more opportunities to see him live.
