SPOTLIGHT ON AMADO’S

Support a Local Venue in Need

While celebrating Pride weekend in June, Amado’s downstairs venue suffered a catastrophic flood. In the months since then, the closing of their basement venue has caused forced cancelations of shows, incalculable losses in revenue, and crippled Amado’s ability to function as a venue/bar/restaurant providing art, music, and live entertainment for San Francisco and the Mission District. The main ground-floor bar is still open and they continue to host live entertainment every night. Please stop by Amado’s to support their artists, staff, and venue. There are two shows coming up that we know our BISS Listers will love, Go By Light ft Fred Torphy (Big Light) + Ryan Mccaffrey (Go By Ocean) tonight 10/26 (*WIN*) and The Sam Chase & The Untraditional on 11/11 (*WIN*). You can also check out Amado’s calendar for their full list of shows, and you can donate to their GoFundMe. Let’s help save this great venue from shuttering like so many others that have already disappeared.

SPOTLIGHT ON DANGERATE

Wanted III: A DangerAte Funktion

November 10th @ Neck of the Woods

DangerAte, the host of this show, is an ever-evolving musical kaleidoscope. They are the foremost practitioners of JazSFunk. This San Francisco band is a rotating lineup of some of the Bay’s hottest young talent and sure-fire seasoned veterans. The band is led by 21 year-old multi-instrumentalist, engineer, producer, and composer Daniel The D3 Cohen.

On this particular night, DJ Kevvy Kev will kick it off, then your musical hosts DangerAte will take the stage. Lil Flower Nasti, Jayme Brown, and N’Galla McCoy will join the band and their Sangin will take you to church! MC SubveRse and Oddity will do some featured Vocal material with the band. Then, SubveRse is going to take it away with his inspired insight and mellifluous flows. Felonious MCs Soulati & D Wolf return the stage they rocked so often and so well, guaranteed to delight and likely to have some special guests. Then, NOBEL HOUSE is in the house epic to have the whole crew! Of course for the finale, DangerAte will return to back the MCs on a few featured numbers and finish the night right with a cypher.

Listen to “Bad Batch” by Eric McFadden, from the EP Lucky Man (Released 2023).

A virtuoso of the six-string, Eric has been amazing audiences internationally for years. His command of so many genres is accentuated with meticulously crafted songs that span numerous genres. This brand-new song features Sgt. Splendor’s Kate Vargas, and the video premiered just last week.
