BISS List 2.23.23: Galactic (3.3 & 3.4)+ Best of BISS this Week

Happy Mardi Gras BISS Listers! I hope you are letting the good times roll all week long!

Last week, Thursday with Pimps of Joytime at GAMH with & Black Joe Lewis was a blast. Friday night was an old school meets new school good time with DangerAte & Felonious at Amado’s. Saturday night was epic with Lantz Lazwell & The Vibe Tribe at BBR and all the special guests! If you weren’t able to make it to BBR to catch him live this time, no worries, because you have another chance next week, March 4th when they play the After Party, after the Galactic show at the Fillmore.

This weekend, I am excited for Sgt Splendor (Kate Vargas & Eric McFadden) to return to the Boom Boom Room for TWO nights (*WIN*)! Check out this week’s “Listen To This” to hear their song Freakification. If you are planning to go both nights, there is a combo ticket. 😉 I am also excited to see Audio Angel playing at the Lost Church on Friday. Saturday, we are gonna head down to the Guild Theater for Pink Talking Fish before we head to the BBR. Be sure to check out this week’s Best of BISS for more!

Listen to “Freakification” by Sgt Splendor from their album ‘Occasions for Self-Congratulations.’ Sgt Splendor was created over the pandemic by Kate Vargas and Eric McFadden, and the album is an abstract expression of that strange time, like a modern reincarnation of Zappa, Captain Beefheart, and Joplin all twisted together into a new wandering sonic soul. Freakification was the first song Kate and Eric wrote together, at the Holiday Music Motel in Sturgeon Bay, WI.You can catch Sgt Splendor this weekend (2/24 & 2/25) at the Boom Boom Room. (*WIN*). This show will feature Paulo Baldi (Claypool/Lennon Delirium, CAKE) on drums, Danny Eisenberg (Ryan Adams, Mother Hips) on keys and Mike D (Casa del Sol) on bass. The show will also include other special guests such as Ronkat Spearman (P- Funk).
