BISS List 7.30.25 Spotlight on GD60 at BBR + The Best GD60 Shows + The Rest of The Best of BISS This Week

Happy GD60 BISS Listers!

It’s almost here. More than 60,000 Deadheads are making their way to San Francisco this weekend, and the city is already swirling with energy, tie-dye, and that unmistakable Deadhead magic. Yes, GD60 is the big headline, but don’t worry, this week’s BISS List has more than just Grateful Dead content. Whether you’re going full wook mode or planning your own path, we’ve got you covered.

Before we dive into what’s coming up, here’s a quick look back at a couple of standout moments from the past two weekends:

Sat, 7/26: RonKat’s KATDELIC @ Boom Boom Room brought the funk and the fire! Here’s the link to the video album.
Sat, 7/26: Father John Misty, Lucinda Williams & Hamilton Leithauser @ The Greek – Natalie here for this show’s review. Corey and I went to see the Americana icon, Lucinda. Her rock’n voice and passion sure filled our spirits! Hamilton brought the joy. Father John brought the swoon and captivated his fans with every word. Here are some pics & videos of the night.

Fri 7/18 – Sun 7/20: Terrapin Roadshow @ Forest Meadows – You all loved Gabriel Barkin’s photos and write-up from the Three Days of Terrapin Roadshow at Forest Meadows, which we featured in last week’s BISS. Gabriel was there on behalf of BISS List, capturing the vibe, the jams, and the magic. This week, we thought you might enjoy a closer look at the beautiful faces in the crowd, including some of our BISS Listers!

As for where to find me this week, here’s my personal plan:

Weds 7/30 to Weds 8/6: I’ll be working at Love on Haight throughout the week – you know, the most colorful store on the planet, located at the corner of Haight and Masonic. If you don’t make it there, you can also find booths for Love on Haight all over this weekend, including Shakedown on JFK, Night Market at Heart of Town at Pier 48, and 712 Ashbury, just to name a few…(mention BISSList for 10% off)
Thu, 7/31: A Grateful Gathering @ Yerba Buena Lane from 4 to 8 pm featuring Jordan Feinstein and Friends – We’re still looking for a few vendors – if you or someone you know wants in, email me at pamela@bisslist.com

GD60 Weekend at Boom Boom Room

July 31st – Aug 3rd @ Boom Boom Room

You already know we love the Boom Boom Room. It’s one of the best places to end your night, and this weekend is no exception. Things kick off Thursday with wild, free-flowing, psychedelic jam energy from Sqwerv. Friday it’s an amazing double bill with LAZWELL opening for Ricky G from Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe. Saturday brings the SF is DEAD ALLSTARS, a crew of heavy-hitting SF players channeling pure Grateful Dead magic every time they hit the stage. And if you’re still standing on Sunday, stop by for a proper wind-down with Dead and Disco with no cover, just good vibes.

Mosswood Meltdown

Mosswood Meltdown lit up Oakland with a wild, sun-drenched weekend of punk, riot grrrl, and pure camp, all emceed by the delightfully filthy John Waters. The crowd came dressed to impress—serving looks, sweating glitter, and dancing nonstop to sets from Devo, Osees, Niis, Prison Affair, Belached, Gentleman Jesse, Diesel Dudes, and more. Spotlight on Jerry Day (8.2) – A FREE community event in McLaren Park, capturing the true spirit of one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time. Featuring Melvin Seals and JGB, Stu Allen and Mars Hotel, and more.
Spotlight on AXIAL TILT (8.3) – A one-night only musical experience celebrating the Dead’s enduring musical legacy. Featuring Joan Osborne, John Kadlecik, Nate LaPointe, Mitch Stein, Stephen Ramirez, Pete Lavezzoli, Wally Ingram, and special guests. (*WIN*)
Mickey Hart: Art at the Edge of Magic @ Haight Street Art Center – The legendary Grateful Dead drummer’s unique and powerful installation features nearly 100 paintings and prints on canvas, paper, plexiglass, metal, drumheads, and cymbals. The exhibition kicks off with an epic opening celebration on July 31 from 4-9pm. Art at the Edge of Magic will be on view until Sept 21st, and is free to all museum visitors during regular hours.
