BISS List 9.3.25 Spotlight on Terrapin Roadshow (9.12 & 9.13) + The Best of BISS This Week
Happy September, BISS Listers,
Welcome back home after the long weekend. Some of you are just returning from the dust, some from vacations, and the rest of us were holding it down right here. However you spent it, we’re all rolling into September together with a full slate of music and community vibes.
It was great to see everyone who came out for Sunday’s Are Dead, putting a little funk in our jam. What a day! Huge appreciation to Mr. Hat Presents & Harlan Records for pulling it together, the Joe Marcinek Band & Moody Cat for bringing the funky jams, plus the vendors, food, and so many friends for filling Harlan Place. That was a proper end-of-summer celebration, catch the videos & pics here.
And speaking of celebrations… congrats to our BISS List ticket winner, Danielle, who scored the ZZ Top package at Ironstone Amphitheatre! They got the full experience with the sponsor lounge package, and the photos they shared were 🔥. That’s what we love to see: our community not just going to shows, but winning their way in and making memories. There are two more shows left in Ironstone’s summer series and we’ve got sponsor lounge packages to *WIN*!
If you missed Jackie Greene and Tim Flannery lighting up Hopmonk on Labor Day (like I did), don’t worry. Gabriel Barkin’s review, shared on BISS with permission from Grateful Web, will take you right there.
This week I’m eyeing a couple of big ones:
- Thu 9/4-9/7: Cory Henry @ SFJAZZ – He’s here for four nights, and I’ll be catching at least one, maybe when the Blind Boys of Alabama join him for 9/6 and 9/7.
- Sat 9/6: Mino 4 Miles: Celebration of Miles Davis @ Presidio Theatre (*WIN*) – You might remember Mino from when he toured with Preservation Hall for Mardi Gras. We’ve got ticket giveaways for this one, so spread the word for your chance to win!
- Sun 9/7: 46th Annual Haight Street Fair – Always a highlight in the Haight Ashbury Hood, and for me, all I have to do is roll out of bed and I’m there.
As always, you can choose your own adventure anytime with the Best of BISS, Full Calendar, and Win Tickets pages.
September Highlights you don’t want to miss:
- The Fillmore: Fri 9/12 & Sat 9/13 Terrapin Roadshow featuring an all-star lineup (more on this in the spotlight below, along with your chance to win tix!)
- Presidio Theatre: Fri 9/12 to Sun 9/14 Jake Shimabukuro, Wed 9/18 Red Baraat (*WIN*), and Sat 9/27 An Evening with Andy Summers (The Police) (*WIN*)
- Mt. Tamalpais: Sat 9/13 Sound Summit ft CAKE, Alvvays, Real Estate, and a Sly & The Family Stone tribute (*WIN*)
- Le Vin Winery, Yorkville: Sat 9/27 to Sun 9/28 David Nelson Band Rides Again: Campout 4 (*WIN*)
- Ironstone Amphitheatre: Fri 9/12 Train with Edwin McCain (*WIN*), Sat 9/21 Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band (*WIN*)
That’s all for now, see you out there this week. Thanks for keeping this community so strong — whether you’re winning tickets, dancing in the streets, or just showing up to support live music, it all matters. Here’s to a September full of music, friends, and memories.
Much love and funky vibes,
~ Pamela aka Miss BISS

BISS REVIEW
Jackie Greene & Tim Flannery
“Marin County’s Hopmonk Tavern hosted Jackie Greene and special guest Tim Flannery for two shows on Labor Day weekend as part of the venue’s impressive summertime Cookout Concert Series. In the extended world of Grateful Dead connectivity, both Jackie Greene and Tim Flannery have earned worthy bona fides. The first time I ever heard of Greene was when he played a Phil & Friends gig in San Francisco almost twenty years ago. A tad more recently, Flannery joined Phil Lesh and Bob Weir to sing the National Anthem at a Giants game, and Weir also has performed on stage with Flannery and his band The Lunatic Fringe.” Check out the full review and photos from Gabriel Barkin here.
