BISS List 11.8.23: Spotlight on The White Buffalo + Best of BISS this Week

Happy Fall Back BISS List-ers! Well maybe “happy” is not the right word… but at least we got to sleep for one extra hour…

#LastFriday night’s SAY SHE SHE show at The Chapel was a complete sell-out! I’m confident that anyone who attended would wholeheartedly agree when I say, “WOW!” I had the privilege of capturing some footage from the front row at the beginning of the set. Thank you to Jewels for the great video from the middle of the room to add to my photo & video album. Big congratulations to Jewels for winning the signed DOUBLE VINYL LP of Say She She’s latest album, Silver!

#LateNightFriday at BBR was a great chance to get my Grateful Dead fix with some of my favorite San Francisco musicians. The SF is Dead All-stars on this occasion featured Reed Mathis, Jordan Feinstein, Elliott Peck, Danny Luehring, and Burt Lewis. It was especially special to have the birthday boy himself, Mr. Rich “Chick” Egan, sit in on vocals and harmonica for Mr. Charlie!

#ThisWeek, I have been putting some time in to prep for the Charity Auction for the Bajaja Music Festival. When I wrote last week’s BISS, I was feeling quite ambitious about seeing a lot of shows this week and was considering (though not limiting myself to) the following: Durand Jones, Black Joe Lewis (*WIN*), Pretty Lights (x3), and TAUK Moore. However…

#ThisWeek’s grand show plans are going to have to wait until Friday when we kick-off the Red Hot Mama’s birthday extravaganza with Wanted III: A DangerAte Funktion ft Noble House @ Neck of the Woods (*WIN*). Saturday, the party continues with Monophonics + The Sextones @ The Independent followed by Love Mischief (late night) at BBR (*WIN*). Happy birthday Red Hot Mama!! + HBD to Phaedra, Robin, Rich, Debi, Casey, Heather, Kelsey, Robyn, Cecy, Bo, Gabe, Daniel, Mike, Beverly, Resa, Ziva, Luke, Mark, Marcy, Josh, Jennie & Tim, Ronkat, Patrick and every other Scorpio I know and love! Hope to see celebrate with you all soon! Maybe even this weekend ❤️😉

The White Buffalo – aka singer / songwriter / guitarist Jake Smith, embarks on a voyage of discovery when it comes to making music, never one to take the obvious route. The Soul Motivators are a 9-piece funk explosion from Toronto. “Raise a Glass” is a hard-hitting, clav-heavy harmonic, smooth horn line, a timeless deep funk track, harking back to the 70s with its lush guitar licks, and vibrant drum grooves.
