BISS List 6.11.26 Spotlight on Wreckless Strangers + The Best of BISS This Week and More

Happy Thursday, BISS Listers!

I finally made it out for music this past weekend at Sonoma Wild. I was there to work, but being surrounded by live music again was exactly what I needed. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make the event such a success—especially my crew, who stepped up for me and for one another while keeping smiles on attendees’ faces all day long. Extra special thanks to Booka, Scott, Jen, and Colleen for all of their support in the week leading up to the event.

BISS List Contributing Editor Gabriel David Barkin was on site for Sonoma Wild and captured some wonderful moments throughout the day. Be sure to check out his photo gallery, along with a great video from BISS Listers Lauren and Cody.

What have YOU been up to this past week? I asked the BISS community, and I am loving all the responses so far.  Please share your own musical adventures, too!

SPOTLIGHT ON WRECKLESS STRANGERS

Wreckless Strangers & Pardon The Interruption

June 26th @ The California Theater

Win Tickets

Fresh off national radio airplay and a climb into the Top 50 Americana and AAA Singles charts, Wreckless Strangers arrive at The California Theater in Santa Rosa as part of their ongoing Dirty Souls album release tour. The Bay Area collective opens the evening with its signature “Ameri-Cali Soul” sound, a rich blend of blues, Americana, funk, rock, and improvisational spirit inspired by legends like Bonnie Raitt, Fleetwood Mac, Tower of Power, and the Grateful Dead. With soaring harmonies, standout musicianship, and songs from their latest EP Dirty Souls, the Bay Area collective delivers a performance rooted in the freewheeling tradition of San Francisco rock ‘n’ roll.

Closing out the night, Pardon the Interruption (PTI) brings an upbeat fusion of ska, funk, reggae, prog, AfroBeat, and rock influences inspired by artists like Talking Heads, The Police, David Bowie, and Stevie Wonder. Mixing infectious original songs with clever reimagined covers, PTI delivers a danceable, high-energy set that feels both nostalgic and completely fresh.

Doors open at 7 p.m. with music beginning at 8 p.m. A perfect summer night of Bay Area music awaits!

SPOTLIGHT ON DTFF PREVIEW

The Gold Souls + Floratura

June 13th @ Ivy Room

Win Tickets

An evening of funk, soul and spice brought to you by Winter Williams Presents & Down To Funk Festival, featuring The Gold Souls and Floratura.

Born from a love of groove, grit, and golden-era funk and soul, The Gold Souls are all about connection–on stage and in the crowd. With soaring vocals, a killer rhythm section, and horns that hit just right, the music is built to move you, body and soul. Equal parts throwback and right-now, The Gold Souls’ sound is tight, vibrant, and impossible not to dance to.

Floratura invites listeners to float downstream and melt into an oasis of wonder and discovery. Drawing from a variety of influences, the Neo-soul California-bred band serves hope and beauty creating a psychedelic atmosphere with a message of optimism.
