BISS List 8.13.26 Spotlight on Earthless + The Best of BISS This Week and More

Last Week: On Friday I wrapped up my Jerry Week celebrations with AXIAL TILT at Great American Music Hall. It was a packed lineup full of amazing musicians. Then it was time for New Orleans funk meets Southern Rock from Deltaphonic, late-night at Boom Boom Room. On Saturday, I headed over to Siesta Valley Bowl for Rebirth Brass Band + Soul Rebels. Believe it or not, this was the first time ever that these two NOLA legends played the same show, on the same stage, in the same place.

On My Radar This Week:

Earthless

August 21st @ Siesta Valley Bowl

Earthless brings its expansive brand of psychedelic rock to Siesta Valley Bowl for a night of heavy riffs, deep grooves, and improvisation under the stars. Formed in San Diego in 2001, the power trio of guitarist Isaiah Mitchell, bassist Mike Eginton, and drummer Mario Rubalcaba has built a devoted following around long-form instrumental jams that draw from 1970s krautrock, Japanese psychedelia, and heavy rock. Their music stretches out and evolves in real time, moving between driving rhythms, sprawling guitar passages, and open-ended improvisation.

More than two decades in, Earthless remains a band built for the live setting. Their extended compositions leave plenty of room to explore, making each performance its own experience and showcasing the interplay between three musicians who have spent years developing a sound distinctly their own.

Earthless is joined by Primitive Ring and DümSürf for a night of psychedelic and heavy rock at a beautiful outdoor amphitheater in the East Bay.
