BISS List 9.17.26 Spotlight on House of Love + The Best of BISS This Week and More

Happy Thursday, BISS Listers!

I’m kinda feeling like I am going three steps forward and then taking two steps back… but I guess that’s still moving forward. And it keeps reminding me of that Ken Kesey quote: “Since we don’t know where we’re going, we have to stick together in case someone gets there.” Sounds about right… and if we happen to get a little lost along the way, at least we’ll have good company and probably some good live music.

Speaking of Ken Kesey, I still need to get myself out there to see the bus! We’ve got until October 24 for Forever Grateful in Golden Gate Park. Did you know they’re doing shows out there too? Another one is coming up next week, and there may be even more announced soon!

Last Week in Review: Saturday turned into a four-band day at Sound Summit with Jerry Harrison’s 50 years of The Talking Heads with the Remain in Light Band (who I know mostly as Cool Cool Cool), then Guster for a little ’90s throwback, and ending with Father John Misty. We popped over to the Sausalito Cruising Club afterward and caught a little of the David Outlaw Band too. Then Monday night, I made the trip across the bridge for Alphabet Soup’s 30-year anniversary at the Ivy Room. Old school Bay Area right there. IYKYK… It was definitely worth the trip! Gabriel David Barkin was also at Sound Summit capturing the day in a gallery, and at The Guild Theatre the night before for Marcus Rezak’s Shred is Dead. If you missed it, you can catch Shred is Dead on 9/22 at The Junction!

Sept 25th @ Boom Boom Room

House of Love is a musical collaborative hosted and curated by psychedelic soul-rock supergroup Casa Del Sol to honor the rich musical heritage of the San Francisco Bay area. Gathering the cream of the crop of their extended musical family to summon the power of music, conjuring love and light.

Fresh from an epic sold out show in Los Angeles, House of Love returns home to their beloved San Francisco for its fifth edition. Casa Del Sol is joined by Tree Adams, Wally Llama at large, Mookie Siegel, Kota Kato, Bo Carper, and some VERY special guests.

Marcus Rezak’s Shred Is Dead took over The Guild Theatre with Anna Elva, Scott Guberman, Murph Murphy, Mads Tolling, Dave Ellis, Sunshine Becker, Stephanie Mandella, and Jackie LaBranch joining Marcus for the night.
